Caughley "Fenced Garden" Slop Bowl c.1780-90
Please scroll down the page for more pictures.
This very decorative slop bowl is typical of Caughley of the period, the pictures show the busy pattern from a number of different perspectives.
The pattern depicts a typical Chinese pavillion with oriental figures in the foreground.
There are also Chinese boats & other usual scenes.
The gilding to the rim is worn as is usual for these pieces.
There is an inner border design & a transfer to the bottom of the bowl.
All in all this is a very nice example of late 18th Century Caughley in very good condition. |
