Caughley Weir Pattern Dish c.1780-90

This very striking Caughley heart shaped dish is handpainted in the "Weir" pattern & dates to c.1780-90. These are, in my humble opinion, amongst the very best & most original products manufactured at Caughley.

Condition is excellent with only a couple of tiny chips to the underside.

Measures 10 1/2 in by 7 1/2 inches.

Caughley "Weir Pattern" Heart shaped dish c.1780-90

With a very striking shape & pattern, these dishes are amongst the most original wares produced at Caughley.

 

The dish is marked with a crescent mark to the inside edge of the footrim.

This Superb Caughley heart shaped dish is handpainted in a Chinoiserie style, with a figure to the foreground & pavillions in the distance. With a meticulously painted border & a very striking shape, these dishes are amongst the most attractive & most original of the Caughley output.

There are a couple of very tiny chips to the rim on the rear of the dish, as can be seen above.
The dish is marked to the inside edge of the footrim with a copy of the Worcester crescent mark, below.

This Wonderful Caughley dish dates to c.1780-90 & is in excellent condition with only 2 tiny rim chips to the reverse, it would compliment any collection of 18th Century English Porcelain.
